ANTIDEMON /////// RELEASE 2005.
   
   ANTIDEMON (Brutal Death Grind Core) began on the 12th January 1994, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Initially with five components, soon arrived at its present composition: BATISTA, vocal and bass, KLEBER GONCALVES, guitar, and ELKE GARZOLI on the drums (notable and rare position for a woman on an international level, considering the aggressive and rustic style used by Antidemon). Little by little, they overcame barriers and established themselves on the Sao Paulo scene.
   In 1995 comes the first demo-tape, titled "Antidemon", and soon afterward a participation in the "Refugio do Rock" collection, still in vinyl, with ten other bands.
   In 1997, they record the work that would then cause the name of the band to overflow the countries' frontiers, the "Confinamento Eterno" demo-tape, that had a surprising acceptance and an historical printing. By then Antidemon already stood out due to the large number of concerts they managed to play in, all throughout Brazil, completely out of the ordinary for this style of band.
   In 1998, they launch yet another demo-tape: "Antidemon 4 Anos". This finally precipitated the arrival of the first CD "Demonocídio", which came out in September 1999. Soon this CD, containing 27 cuts (!), became a classic in its kind! Both the media and the public in general elected this work and finally placed the band amongst the most recognized in Brazil. "Demonocídio" was also featured in two collections in the USA, by "Laceration Records" and by "Cross Rhythms Music". Besides an international distribution, several brands, like "Nordic Mission"(Norway) and "Little Rose" (Finland) became official distributors of the band. Back in Brazil, the "Demonocídio" CD would also be featured in collections like "Noise for Deaf Vol. III" and "Noise for Deaf Vol. IV", from "Rottenness Records", the "Brazil Collection”, and "Barad", with Antidemon and the controversial Zen Garden, by "Destroyer". Doors continued to sway open, the number of concerts kept growing, and the public kept pouring in, from north to south Brazil, from the most remote rural places to the great urban centres, a legion of people who admired the band, its posture and ideology. This public became like a family to us.
   
   In November 1999, Antidemon founded the Zadoque Community (“Comunidade Zadoque"), the most valuable and sweetest fruit of these obstinate warriors. In a short while Zadoque Community grew and conquered a base in the Barra Funda neighbourhood, in Sao Paulo, thus becoming not only a cult place for underground music but also a place of deliverance from drugs, social reinsertion and the start of a new life for many thousands of young people.
   The true Home for Antidemon! Today there are already nine Communities scattered throughout Brazil.
   "Trip" magazine, in its 91s t issue, dedicated six juicy pages to the work of Antidemon and Zadoque Community, including a cut from "Demonocídio" in the CD accompanying the magazine, with a print in the order of many tens of thousands, which was also very important for the band.
   
   On March 2002, Antidemon began their first tour outside Brazil - MEXICO! The "Demonocídio Mexican Tour 2002" was made up of ten fantastic concerts: Chalco, Orizaba, Puebla, Oaxaca, Mexico City, Toluca, Acambaro, Guadalajara and Leon. They were thirty two days during which the Mexicans fell in love with the band, dedicating them a total and unrestricted acceptance. It was in Mexico that the most surprising thing happened: the recording of a CD in Spanish in only four days! It seemed impossible, but the work began and with much struggle and effort the CD, "Anillo de Fuego" was born in Mexico.
   This new work was not expected to generate a great attention back in Brazil, due to the unfavourable circumstances such as the language and the short time involved, which could have resulted in an inferior quality in comparison with the first CD "Demonocídio". Nevertheless, "Anillo de Fuego" was published also in Brazil and the reaction was unexpected. The media gave it fantastic reports and new doors continued to open. Then began a remarkable promotion of our work throughout Spanish speaking countries.
   
   On February 2003 took place the third edition of "Brazil Metal Union", a festival fruit of an enquiry all over Brazil to choose the 10 best national metal bands. Antidemon were one of the bands selected and, due to an historical presentation at "Led's Lay", the media again pointed out Antidemon.
   On March 2003, Antidemon again broke down the country’s frontiers, this time going to ARGENTINA. They were 18 days of unprecedented intense and close national press and radio coverage. And three magnificent concerts, in "El Borde" at Temperley, at South Burzaco and in an uncommon Russian and Ukrainian colony in Buenos Aires. The Argentineans extended great warmth and affinity towards the band, having the Spanish CD produced its fruits. Back in Brazil the greatest news, concerning this CD awaited us: it had been nominated for the Dynamite Award ("Prémio Dynamite"), thus placing "Anillo de Fuego" amongst the 10 best metal CDs in the land. After a few days, the ballots (over 60.000) reserved yet another surprise: the CD, recorded in four days, ended up in number 2, with a minimal difference of 5% in relation to the
   first prize.
   
   Still in 2003, and after a tour in the north and northeast of Brazil a concert in Brasilia and another in Florianopolis, in August Antidemon left for one of their greatest conquests: EUROPE! Starting with the great "Freak Stock" festival, in Gotha, Germany, which lasted for four days and included over 60 bands from all over the world, amongst them Sinai Beach (USA), Noiz, Sacrificium, Lampshade (DK) and Today Forever, over 8.000 people present could not believe the massacre coming from this band which had until then been away from the European route. Germany was still fortunate to hear three more Antidemon concerts, at Johanngeorgenstadst, Zittau and Ennepetal, alongside the Norwegians Dottnar and Trust, already selling out the stock of CDs in that very first stop. The demanding British audiences also surrendered at the “III Destruction Fest”, in London. Alongside Extol, amongst others, the mythical “Underworld” was demolished by the Brazilian adrenaline. The attack was then continued in Spain. “La Caja de Pandora”, in Palencia, “Camaway”, in Pontevedra and “Anoeta”, in Vigo, witnessed the breathtaking conquest of the Spanish audiences, well noted by the local press. Already in Galizia Antidemon were accompanied by the Portuguese The Howling and Bleeding Display, with whom they would share the stage again, this time already in Portugal, at the “III Gaia Metal Fest” (Porto), also with the Germans T-Bone, having Antidemon the honour of closing the festival. At Loures (Lisbon), the “I Zadoque Metal Fest” welcomed the closing of this first European tour, together with Invoke, Arte Sacra and Ethereal, before an audience familiar with the work of the band and many Brazilians.
   Altogether 10 shows, that cried out for more. But doors had been open and the invitations to go back are many and they will surely be accepted soon in 2004.
   
   Towards the end of 2003, we have programmed the greatest and largest concert of the band in terms of audiences! Over 50.000 people at the Pacaembu Stadium, in Sao Paulo, the "Z DAY", organized by Zadoque Community, with the participation of the biggest names in the Brazilian metal scene.
